Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, MLA Atishi Test COVID-19 Positive

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain tests positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, after being hospitalised over breathlessness, high fever and a drop in oxygen levels.

This is the second time Jain underwent a test after initially testing negative for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

Presently, he will remain admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital and the command of Delhi Health Ministry has been handed over to Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Kalkaji MLA Atishi has also been infected with Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the situation in Delhi is continuously worsening due to spike in infections. In the last 24 hours, 2,414 cases have been reported and 67 deaths have occurred.

The latest numbers bring the coronavirus cases in Delhi past 47,000 and death toll at 1,904.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has stated the lack of ICU beds in view of the rising cases.

He said that about 70% of beds are occupied and in view of the current situation, more beds are needed.
