Dengue & Chikungunya Outbreak In Bihar

While rainfall and its resultant problems may have stopped in Patna, now it is staring at the prospect of a spike in the number of dengue patients. In Patna, more than 640 cases of dengue have come to light. In Bihar, the number of dengue patients is more than 900. 

Meanwhile, Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health Department has said that the fear of mosquito-borne diseases is rising and so, 24 teams have been formed to tackle mosquito menace. These teams are spraying Tamphos medicine. He gave the assurance that mosquito-borne diseases are not likely to spread. Also, Kumar said that all essential medicines are available in hospitals and that all hospitals have been ordered to remain on alert.


In relief material too, essential medicines like Paracetamol, ORS, Ondem, Zinc etc are being made into a packet and distributed. Kumar said that bleaching powder and limestone powder is being sprayed in areas where the land surface is drying up.
