Security Heightened Ahead Of Ayodhya Land Dispute Verdict
The Supreme Court could deliver a verdict in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute case any day before November 17. Prior to the verdict, security has been beefed up in many states including Uttar Pradesh.
Especially in Ayodhya and Gorakhpur, security has been stepped up to a very large extent from now on. Amid imposition of Section 144, police have increased security in Ayodhya and neighbouring districts. Police also conducted a flag march in Gorakhpur.
Many Muslim institutions have appealed to people to exercise restraint, despite whatever verdict is delivered. Meanwhile, the RSS has said that it will speak to senior leaders of Left parties, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD and other parties before the verdict. Apart from this, RSS leaders will also meet Muslim MPs and MLAs. On Wednesday, Maulana Arshad Madani, head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, said that Muslims will accept whatever verdict the Supreme Court will deliver. He said that he hoped that the Supreme Court verdict will be based on facts. Prime Minister Modi has ordered all his ministers not to give any unnecessary or controversial statements in this matter.
