Eden Gardens Turns Pink For Day-Night IND Vs BAN T
The second and final match of the two-match test series between India and Bangladesh will be played in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens from Friday.

This test match is very special since both teams will play a day-night match for the first time. India is already ahead in the series by 1-0 after winning the first test match. 


The match will be played with a pink ball. Each day, the play will start each day at 1 pm IST, and by the time it resumes at 3.40 pm IST after a 40-minute lunch break, the floodlights would be on. After tea break at 5.40 pm IST, the final session will be held between 6 to 8 pm IST.

This is India’s 540th test match. Along with fans, players of both teams are very excited about this match. Entire Kolkata and the Eden Gardens has been coloured pink. 

India is already ahead in the series by 1-0 after winning the first test match and it will try very hard to win the second test match, thus winning the series 2-0. 

India won the first test match against Bangladesh by 130 runs. While Mayank Agrawal made a spectacular double century in the first test, all bowlers of the team bowled well.

Both teams have so far played a total of 10 test matches, of which India has won eight. Two matches ended in a draw. India is currently number one in test rankings and Bangladesh is on the ninth spot.

Till now, a total of 11 day-night test matches have been played in the history of test cricket. Australia holds the record for playing the most number of day-night test matches.

While Australia has played five day-night test matches, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka and England have played three day-night test matches each. Apart from this, New Zealand and South Africa have played two and Zimbabwe has played one day-night test match.
