CAA Protests: FIR Against 10,000 AMU Students
A case has been registered against 10,000 students of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for taking part in protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

According to the Aligarh Police, this FIR has been filed against 10,000 unidentified students in connection with the violence that took place on AMU campus on December 15 when hundreds of students gathered in protest against the Delhi Police's barbaric action on Jamia students.

Delhi Police had barged into the library of Jamia Millia Islamia University and fired tear gas and resorted to baton charge on Jamia students.

On the night of December 15, violence had broken out on AMU campus as police and paramilitary personnel entered the campus and resorted to baton charge.

Several students are still seriously injured and admitted to hospitals after the police action. Several videos of police action at AMU campus have gone viral. In these videos, police personnel can be seen damaging vehicles parked on the campus.

However, instead of probing these charges, Aligarh police has accused 10,000 unidentified students in its FIR. Earlier, Aligarh police had registered a case against 1,200 AMU students for taking out a candlelight vigil on campus.
